Pandora's Box

I go through my drawers, cabinets, and bookshelves almost every year. I don't have a fixed date when I rummage through my piles of white photocopied sheets of info, yellow-stained leaves of notes and books, and stacks of old books,magazines, and letters of correspondence.

As I flipped through the pages of a few residual copies of the magazines, newsletters, and old campaign materials of the company that I used to work with, I cannot help but recall the good times and all the things that I learned from the experience. The next pile that I rearranged were some of my documents when I was still a newly graduate medical technologist who was tasked by the current situation during those times to stop preparing and aspiring to ever become a doctor in the future. Things got a little tough and rough during those years.

It was really quite an emotional time for me to remove the rubbish out of the cabinets and reminisce through college days--med tech days. Those were one of the happiest moments in my life. Indeed, it is hurting and painful to relive some memories of the past.

WE learn from our past --whether mistakes, weaknesses, or strengths. Without yesterday, we would not be "who we are" today. But the gift of the PRESENT makes us stronger and more determined to face all the challenges that life bring us. And the sweet victory of success would MAKE us into who we would become in this LIFETIME.

Exhaustion

Simply there is exhaustion from everything
From giving and forgiving,
To loving and waiting...
Starting something new and great
To holding on a magical dream,
a greater purpose,
larger than life...

I simply am tired from the million miles journey,
Journey into life's trials...
But that's the irony of life ...
With hardship, victory is sweet;
With every sacrifice, the path to success seems a step closer...

Maybe I just need a time-out...
A restful get-away to an island
Far from all the hustle and bustle of all these man-made noise
And welcome nature's gift instead...

The gift of peace...
Warm sunshine...
Morning dew...

A journey into the heart of the world
The heart of emptiness
A place that seemed so far away
But just lies with the power within
